you may want to put on sunglasses, this post is BRIGHT. color overload.![]()
this was her actual bday. nori had a practice cupcake for her big party. that night she took two licks of icing then shoved it away. haha.
new year’s eve we spent the whole day baking and cleaning. aunt debbie bought us these aprons. flirty aprons![]()
sarah, ali and their girls came over to help. olivia was the taste tester when aunt ali wasn’t lookin.![]()
the process. last march ali and i made these rainbow cupcakes. i knew then i wanted to make nori’s cake similar but try to ‘tye dye’ it. well i grossly
underestimated the amt of time we needed for prep, cooking, icing and clean up. i got ready for new years eve dinner in less than ten min. :-/ and still
the next day had a ton to do. it didn’t turn out as awesome as it did in my mind, but once she was into the cake it looked pretty sweet. i needed
to experiment more with swirling the colors because i thought i did a ton and yet it looks like i barely did at all. i had to use my electric knife to
shave off all the brown cooked part on the bottom to expose the colors. when i do it again, i’ll put the warm colors on bottom. oh well, it is what it is.
still came out decent for my first time and not being a baker and all. lol.
so the theme was “pajama jam” because on new years day, we always hang out in our pj’s. i didn’t want that to change. on the invite i insisted
people wear them or forever be labeled, “lame” by me.
most wore them, but a few, still disappointed. whatever.![]()
ali and i like making tutus. i made nori’s to match her pj’s and ali made mine. don’t be jealous.
two people who i swore wouldn’t dress up, DID, and they matched!!!!! hahahahahha. paco and adam’s dad. awesome in so many ways.
the main event. it went really well. we thought for sure she’d barely touch it. no sir. by the end it was even in her ears and hair!
(courtesy of aunt ali telling her to wash her hair with the icing)
adam shot and edited this video. so for all the people that were aggravated because he was blocking your view, aren’t you glad he was now that you’ve
seen this? ya. this will be super cool for her/us to watch years from now.
good job honey. (push play then pause and let it load far into it before
you watch or you will get aggravated cause it keeps pausing.)

rach was the only other one that rocked out an adult onesie with me. nori is frowning because we took her cake away and were trying to clean her up.
i put adam on the “find her first doll committee.” he came back with a 4+yr old hard plastic doll. wasn’t really what i was thinking but it is very cool.
she hugged it as soon as she opened it. good job daddy. lets hope she doesn’t drop it while she’s walking and break her big toe. haha.
she got lots of good stuff. we are very blessed to have such loving and generous friends and family!
we needed an updated ‘tracy girls and their girls’ photo. not too much longer and britt’s new baby will be here. i hope it’s a girl, cause a little boy
might get mad he can’t be in the pic.
JK.
at one point there were 9 people playing angry birds on their cellphones. don’t worry the party was over, it wasn’t that boring. haha. if you’ve
never played i recommend keeping it that way was because IT IS ADDICTING. clearly.
poppi doing what he does best, running around with the kids.
after a long day and no nap, she passed out around 1030pm. slept in til 11 the next day.![]()
i wish our house is double the size and we could have invited everyone we wanted to. when she gets bigger we are going to have to rent out a place for
sure. it was fun though. i’m so glad we waited til after christmas because there is just way too much going on until new years day. and it was
an awesome way to end the holidays! not to mention adam took off the last couple weeks of the year so it was even more fun having him around to help!
hope your eyes don’t burn from the over saturation of color you just looked viewed! ha! have a great weekend everyone.
heart, melanie and adam
