Monthly Archives: February 2012

nico 2-3 months.

these are a bunch of random photos i’ve taken over the last month.  i’ve been lazy busy and haven’t updated this blog in awhile. sorry! i have, however, been updating the rockpink site quite a bit! i’m not sure how i’m going to keep all 3 blogs up (birth photo included) once busy season starts! those bloggers out there know it takes a lot of time to post, especially when i have to write. sheesh. anywho…

ali gave me this outfit for nico the last day we hung out. of course, it’s a zulily purchase! i love it!!!

belly time is fun, but chewing my hand is more enjoyable.

this is what happens when i try and take pics of nico while nori is awake. JEALOUSY. she wouldn’t leave him alone!! poor girl hardly gets any

attention these days! bahahahahah. YAH RIGHT.

finally had some decent light in the house amongst all these gloomy days. hello handsome boy!man i love your little face.

my children have big eyes, this is an obvious fact. and often i can see the white ABOVE the iris, which is  impressive.

babble babble babble. i forgot how much i love the cooooooo’s.

so far this is my favorite ‘nico image’ since he was born. “imma just chillixan here. no big deal. i’m a big boy.”

the little snot wouldn’t hold still. he kept rolling over almost as soon as i got him up. and when i’m shooting alone, having to jump back to

the camera, focus and snap before he rolls…let’s just say it’s a challenge. but look at meeeee i can rollllll! weeeee!

because everyone either thinks he looks JUST like nori, or nothing like her, here is a comparison. except nori is 6mths here, which is

appropriate since his stats are currently hers at that time.

both kids passed out on me a couple hrs ago. they are both starting to stir, so i must enjoy the few minutes til the lovely chaos starts back up! :)

mia tortilla: 8months.

in case you are new to the blog, this is mia, our  youngest niece. She’s the 3rd daughter of my oldest sis, brittany.

she’s growing up too stinkin’ fast.

those eyebrows speak for her these days. oh, i just love you and your hilarious expressions.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

baby pushups. “i work out.”

YOU. ARE. SO. ADORABLE.

i can’t wait to see your personality bloom even more, little lady. you have to have a lot of spunk to keep up those big sisters of yours. ;)

love you, aunt mel.

leaving her legacy in books…

i can’t believe it’s already february. holy. cow. in less than a couple weeks we’re having the book fair, another opportunity to do some good

in my sister’s name. :) readers hideaway has decided to extend the event to two days for the folks who won’t be able to make it on monday.

you can see on the flyer below the dates, time and location. i’ve seen a bunch of their books and they have a great selection of

top quality for CHEAP prices! though the books can make great gifts, you don’t even have to buy them for yourself, you can just pick

some out to donate. our top priorities are the schools/libraries where she personally attended and worked. this is our first opportunity,

but we plan on gathering and donating all year long. i’d love for this to become so big that we can donate to many more places,

across the tristate. also, there will be plenty of labels, so if you would like to add a label to the books you purchased for yourself,

then you are welcome to. just another reminder to live our lives selflessly every time we open up the book and see her name.

here is the label adam designed to be placed inside. (LOVE IT!!)

i decided to show it off in one of ali’s favorite books i have here at home, “silverlicious.”

some of you have also asked about dropping off NEW books to be donated as well. i know some people have connections within

their own work and that’s great, you are welcome to drop those off and we will see they are placed somewhere in her name. just make sure

they are kept separately and are given to someone within our family or close friends. i don’t want readers hideaway to have to worry about

books other than what they are selling! we encourage you to buy all books at that fair because the prices will be

much more discounted than in stores. hope to see you there!

heart, melanie

ps. if you are out of town, you can always mail a check to me PAYABLE TO READERS HIDEAWAY, and i will donate books for you!
