this is the jist of brittany’s original email to us: “we’re having an intimate wedding with our closest friends and family on earth day
at a nature preserve. we’re simple. i’m not wearing a wedding dress, and will carry dried wheat as my bouquet. we got engaged on an elephant in
thailand! we basically want you to cover the ceremony and to spend the day taking portraits because our reception isn’t even til the next day.” a mutual
friend of ours gave me the heads up about brittany and said she’s a hippy with dreads and so stinkin’ cool. with all that combined we absolutely said
yes to making it happen!! her rings were custom made on the same trip to thailand, how awesome?!

her gown was also handmade for her by a designer in seattle with recycled materials!
just before the ceremony started brit sent someone to remind mark she wanted to get married barefoot.
adam caught this great shot during their exit.

max, the ring bearer

this was my first bride with dreads. please find me more of those.

we drove all the way to downtown cincy to hit up this specific shepard fairey mural. goes to show you what kind of people they are. i love that!

apparently mark is a dj. so if you ever see this ‘robot’ spinning, shout out to him!

this is nuts. so earth day was on good friday this year. everyone knows it rains every single good friday and if it’s not rainy, it’s dark and gloomy. well,
it literally rained from the moment we got up and the whole car ride there. as we were parking…IT STOPPED. i couldn’t believe it. the forecast
showed 100% chance of rain every hour of the day. the ceremony was still held outside, AND the entire 4 hours (ALMOST ON THE FREAKING dot)
we were with them, it didn’t rain. this was the very last shot and if you look close you can see the rain on mark’s shirt. as we pulled away it started pouring
rain for the rest of the day!! can you believe that?? i must have said it 20x’s that day. “word up to JC for giving you this perfect window of dryness today!!”
i’m so glad everything worked out for you. we were truly looking forward to this, especially as our first wedding of ’11! it’s refreshing
for your creativity when you have a bride and groom who want to stray away from your typical wedding day.
you guys are just the cutest and we
wish you much love and happiness. heart, melanie and adam.
