lauren & brandon.

i made lauren get up nice and early for this session because we wanted morning light on the golf course. the closer we got to the

river, the thicker the fog. the course was about 15 carts behind because no one could see, so we didn’t want to mess with it.

we did however take advantage of the fog before we left. you’d never know that right behind them is a bunch of houses.

we left and headed for a field. a group of our friends have a website devoted strictly to iphone pics. whenever we see something cool, it’s a race to get

the shot before each other. competition is healthy for marriage, no? :) adam couldn’t resist getting the shot with the mark II as well. i think lauren

and brandon must have been thinkin, “hey guys, we’re over here!” as they watched us squatting down to get pics of this sweet dew dripped web.

in love, much? perfect.

back to the course. lauren has golfed for many years, and it’s also something they love to do together. it keeps sessions fresh for us when we can

shoot the couple doing something they love. something new and fun gets our creative juices flowing. :)

what adam saw. (what YOU don’t see…is the old men golfers a hundred yards away, who were already  angry for starting way late from fog, now

waiting on some young lovebirds getting pics taken next to their fairway. :) they were just jealous.)

through college i worked at brio both as a server and as a hostess. i just added up in my head, that this will be the 7th former brio employee’s

wedding we will have shot. even funnier that there was a team of hostesses, by far the best brio’s ever known and lauren is one of the last from

the original group. hilarious. though, she was a couple years younger than me at seton, we didn’t really become close til hosting together. when

this hottie, brandon, came into her life she was so giddy and happy and had nothing but annoyingly cute things to say about their relationship.

we’re so happy for you two. after how fun and easy this session was, i can only imagine what it’s going to be like with you guys dressed up next

may. oh, in addition to lauren’s gorgeous sisters and bridesmaids…i. can’t. wait. you guys rock. heart, mel and adam.

shopping spree!

generally i spend tuesdays with rachel. mercy didn’t have school today, so amy and i took rach and a couple of her friends shopping. several people

donated money and specifically asked us to take her on a fun shopping spree. well shoot. OKAY! spending others money just comes naturally

to me, so it was hardly a burden. :) while i was at it, i cashed out the team rachel acct, for dramatic purposes only, to hand john a check of all the funds

we raised. i must say, the total was about 20x’s what i ever imagined. amazing people you all are. i even had random loft 3 clients send her checks. how

freakin cool. i’d REALLY love to tell you the total, but wouldn’t that be tacky? but i WILL tell you there are 870+ people rockin Team Rachel

shirts, and at more than a handful of dollars profit each… we done good, y’all. their family is very thankful.

rach is down to this adorable peach fuzz. it’s so stinkin soft. and adorable. and she wears it very well.

on to the shopping. we started with accessories. don’t worry, she didn’t buy either of these. haha.

forever XXI has a lot of pleather and i’m not really sure why. adam happened to be at kenwood picking up his work computer and when rachel

heard he was coming she wanted to make him laugh. instead it turns out she looks like a dang runway model.  she strut her stuff out of the dressing

room just goofing off to show him. we were like, ummmmm, you actually look really hot, in a strange pleather is not cool at all, kind of way.

on the right, was one of the many many adorable outfits she actually did buy.

you don’t give a few girls hundreds of dollars and expect them to walk out with any less do you? we did some damage.

i had to share this. when amy and i picked up the orginal batch of shirts, we were 40 min from home in the middle of nowhere. packed the car, ready

to go and her SUV doesn’t start. rut roh. got jumped. fixed. today, we were about to leave when she realized her keys must have fallen into the abyss

of her mary poppins bag…orrrr they fell out somewhere in the mall. awesome. as we all back tracked, st. anthony (and kenwood mall security)

came through with the keys! she has labeled me her car’s personal jinx.

sweet new fundraising item! bands for $5. message me if you’re interested.

keli from colette paperie saw rachel on the blog and emailed me asking if she could send some things to rachel. these are some of the goodies.

thanks!! she loves them! very sweet of you!

as you can see, rachel’s smile is still shining brightly. she is such a trooper. she finished her 3rd round of chemo with very little complications, which

is practically unheard of with her. she still has to deal with severe bone aches, hurling for hours on end, and ridiculous fatigue. she is slowly getting

used to all the daily shots, and handfulls of pills. she has been attending as much school as she can, which has been way more than i would have

ever thought she could. even though she’s playing catch up every second of the day, she’s still maintaining A’s and b+’s. how is that possible?! kids

who are healthy and attend class regularly can’t even keep a B average. whew. great job girlfriend!

thank you everyone for your continued prayers and support. john shared a number of beautiful stories how complete strangers are reaching out

in big and even little ways. her team rachel facebook fanpage has over 1,000 people on it!! amazing. keep sharing the love.

brittany & zack.

talk about love at first sight. these two have known each other a really long time…however, not til that long ago they starting dating.

after a short period, he knew, she’s the one. and boy, you can tell in these pics, they are madly in love.

as we were getting out the camera and adjusting our settings, adam and i looked up and they were already in the perfect position. naturally holding

each other. laughing. kissing. adam smiled at me and i said, “annnd this is going to be an easy sesh!” and yes, yes it was. :)

dang, it just got HOT in here!

i love how much you love each other. so cute i could puke.

we had an idea for a shot. adam and zack went searching for a flower. adam came back with a half dead weed. zack came back with his hands full,

gently twisting a piece of grass tying his mini bouquet together. he’s clearly done this once or twice for her! ;)

she just lights up around him. so beautiful.

i’m quite disappointed in fall so far. normally our tree lined street takes my breath away. this year, with the drought, most the trees went straight to

brown then bare. lame. thankfully these woods had some color. almost looks like a fake painted 1980′s olan mills backdrop.

brittany contacted us at THE perfect time. they booked our last opening for a 2011 wedding AND inquired the same day i had a reschedule request. i was able to

slip them in a couple weekends ago and give brittany the fall e sesh she’s apparently always dreamed of! so glad it worked out. this couple is just too cute

for words and so easy to photograph. their wedding is going to be small and intimate. AND she follows a couple awesome wedding blogs, that i KNOW will

give her ideas to make their details off the hook! PUMPED for this wedding. thanks guys! :) heart, melanie and adam.
