a good friend of mine (joe) was asked to design our good friends (katie and ryan) save the dates.
joe asked his good friend (me) to take some shots for his design.

lil sister madegan. i’d like to take credit for teaching her how to draw since i’m her art teacher, however mom is quite creative. 
not all moms are cool enough to encourage their little girls to get dirty! love it.
one time her dad came into school to let the two boys delaney always talks about at home know who’s boss. it was so cute. 
yes, i am worried for all the boy’s hearts these two are going to break one day.

julie encourages these kids to be different and to think outside the box. i enjoy her confidence and the simple lesson of ‘being yourself’ she’s teaching them.

i learned a new verse to ‘ring around the rosey’ that day.
i teach art/art history at a local montessori preschool/kindergarten. I have had delaney for 3 years now and this is my first year with maddie.
i actually asked julie if i could shoot her family! i owe her big time because has been coming in my art room to aide me every other friday for a year.
not only is she donating 5 hours of her time, but all 3 of them dress up with me! every single friday i’ve named “fun friday”, where i literally go through my closet and try my
hardest to pick out layers of clothes that don’t match. its actually harder than you think! one time dad even came in dressed up with them! LOVE IT!! to have her around is so awesome.
i think every parent should have to experience one day in the classroom so they can just really understand what it’s like! anyway, they are moving out to california where their dad just
relocated to. i am obviously VERY sad about that. julie is always saying how hard it is to get photos of the fam, so what a great thank you gift from me:)
julie is that parent who you have to adore. i mean, if you are an educator, you know that most often the parents aren’t the easiest to work with.
but julie makes all the teachers gifts, and she THANKS them…and well, parents like her keep us teachers coming back!

adam disappeared with the rings for quite awhile walking around downtown. i said to the girls, ’should we be worried? lol’ and val’s response… ‘nah, im not worried.’

val and tim crack me up. i felt like tim was always more worried about us having a good time, than he was worried about us getting good shots. i love that.
if you are a photog, YOU KNOW, there is nothing like a client who genuinely is lookin’ out for you. you know, making sure you’re fed, rested, comfortable… it’s just funny
sometimes when people forget that we’ve been working 12 hours and really just want to sit down!! these two are so down to earth and just ‘real’. for instance, we shot
their engagement pics and the ONE image they chose to put on their wedding program was one of the very last shots where val threw her hair up in a pony tail, tim put on a
hat and they both wore their favorite hoodies! how cool is that?! good for you guys. thanks for being yourselves and rockin out all night. we had a great time all the way til
the end! oh, and val’s mom- words can’t describe how hilarious she is. everyone should get to experience just one day with her. she will have you in stitches. thanks guys
