Ellen & Matty.

I had an absolute lovely time with this couple. I know about 50% of my clients personally which makes them relaxed from the start. So

when I shoot complete strangers, I expect a little bit of an awkward start. (My college professor actually told us that back in the day,

photogs pretended to shoot but film wasn’t acutally even loaded til 20 min in because they knew the first couple rolls would be trashed

anyway. Interesting, eh?) These two were immediately in sync with me. I just loved that! This was my second shot! :)

Uhhhhhhhhh. GorGEOUS!

Matty knows how to make her giggle in a split second. So sweet.

At our consultation they asked about doing a stylized session, which is something I never do. I told them if they got all the props etc

together I was happy to play along! The blooms were the perfect touch!

That curl takes this image from beautiful to perfect.

HAHAHA. Matty brought his walking stick that he won with like 50,000 tickets in an arcade in Gatlinburg. Turned out to be quite handy

on a steep hill!

I love shooting couples who show me their true personality. After all, you want your images to reflect YOU!

Thanks for being up for anything you guys! I had fun! Heart, Melanie.

Mara & Greg.

We started on their porch for a couple shots with their doggies. Tyson is older and you should have heard the liiiiist of things that poor

pup has been through. GAH! Sweet as can be though!

Right away I knew how easy this session would be. Some couples can just read my mind with very little direction given. It also helps

when the love is just oozing from them. And they are gorgeous. That helps. ;)

They both are goofy people but Mara is hilarious. When people would slow down or stare she’d yell to them vs feeling uncomfortable. :) :)

As we wandered around Oakley, Mara jokingly suggested the laundry mat. UUUMMM with those two?? Absolutely I wanted to do it.

That is a Family Magazine and apparently depicts each of their current feelings. Bahaha.

Whenever I shoot through a tree like this, I think to myself how crazy I must look. I always feel obliged to immediately show

the couple the image so they can understand why I just fought so hard with branches for one shot. :)

Blue eyes. Blue shirt. Pink lips. Love.

My fingers are twitching thinking of the fun I will have shooting them all fancied up. EEEE!

I could have shot these two all night. I love sessions when I’m so in the groove I just don’t want to stop! Soooo excited for their wedding.

To give you a vision, she will be walking down a long aisle of trees….YESSS. You guys rock. Heart, Melanie.

Ps. Thanks for promoting me to being your forever photog. Glad we got that out of the way. Might have been awkward if I had to

ask to shoot your future (guaranteed adorable) family. :0

nikki and marty.

We decided a few days prior when seeing the forecast of snow/sleet that we would carry on the session as planned braving the potential

elements. I mean, we live in the Midwest so a snow forecast could turn out 65/sunny!  The snow ended up being just perfect!

Love!

This makes me smile so much. Seems like a great depiction of their relationship!

What a beautiful picture of you, Nikki! And ps, Marty, I was able to work a little post process magic on the city for you. :)

Once it turned to sleet, it was a little less fun, so we went inside to their killer new loft in the city. Color me JEALOUS. If you know the

history behind “Loft 3″, then you know we used to live in a wicked cool space like this. The city has done a 180 in the last 7 years and that

lifestyle is a lot more inviting for a young couple like we once were. (Ha!)

Cement counter tops. SEX-Y!!

I had loads of fun with you two! Shooting with frozen digits is a lot more pleasant when the couple is so entertaining. I’m sure your wedding

is going to be just as enjoyable. :) Heart, Melanie.
